GreenStar Rate Controller

The GreenStar™ (GS) Rate Controller reduces the need for a second controller in the cab for rate control.

The color, touch-screen GreenStar display becomes the interface for many functions of a producer's implement:

• Target rate
• Actual rate
• Boom section status
• Master switch status
• Pressure
• Fence row nozzles
• Tank level indicator
• Agitation

Regardless of operation type, producers have endured rising input costs each year. Inputs such as seed, fertilizers, pesticides, and fuel seem to increase every year.

For these reasons and others, many producers strive to minimize the number of passes taken through the field and attempt to make one pass count.

John Deere Section Control and the GreenStar™ Rate Controller allows operators to combine what used to be multiple operations into one, allowing such tasks to be completed simultaneously during a single field pass. Producers can utilize automatic rate and section control during four simultaneous operations.

Multiple GreenStar Rate Controllers are a very versatile hardware solution. The controllers are functional when used in tandem with or independent of each other.

For example, install multiple controllers on a planter to control fertilizer and seed simultaneously, and then remove one or two of those controllers to control single products on individual implements, such as sprayers or strip-till applicators.

John Deere Section Control activation

The GreenStar Rate Controller enables John Deere Section Control on machines with sectional capabilities, including:

• Pull-type sprayers
• Non-John Deere self-propelled sprayers
• Liquid fertilizer systems

John Deere Section Control turns on and off implement or sprayer boom sections based on global positioning system (GPS) and field coverage, in an effort to reduce overlap in headland areas and oddly shaped fields.

Facilitate operations with pull-type sprayers

The GreenStar Rate Controller allows the GreenStar 3, CommandCenter 4600/4200, Universal 4640/4240 displays to integrate with anhydrous ammonia (NH3) applicators, such as the John Deere 2510 Series of nutrient applicators, self-propelled sprayers, liquid manure applicators, liquid fertilizer applicators, and many pull-type sprayers to accomplish the following:

• Automatic rate control
• Field documentation
• Map-based prescriptions
